Darood Ibrahim is the most fundamental and universally recited form of Salawat (blessings) upon the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ in the entire Islamic tradition. It is not merely a supplication but a pillar of worship — recited in the Qa'dah (sitting position) of every single Salah by hundreds of millions of Muslims worldwide, multiple times every day. Ka'b ibn Ujrah ؓ narrated that when the verse of Salawat (Al-Ahzab 33:56) was revealed, the Companions asked the Prophet ﷺ how they should send blessings upon him. The Prophet ﷺ himself taught them this very Darood, which has been transmitted through an unbroken chain of narration for over 1,400 years. Its spiritual power lies in comparing our invocation of blessings to those that Allah sent upon Ibrahim ﷺ — the Khalilullah (Friend of Allah) — reflecting the supreme station of our beloved Prophet ﷺ.
"I began reciting Darood Ibrahim 100 times after every Fajr. Within weeks, a peace settled in my heart I had never known. My anxiety improved dramatically — alhamdulillah."
"My marriage was falling apart. I committed to 500 Darood Ibrahim daily for 40 days. SubhanAllah, things began to mend. The Prophet ﷺ is our intercessor."
"As a convert 5 years ago, Darood Ibrahim was the first Arabic I learned. Reciting it in every Salah grounded my faith more than anything else."
"I make it a practice to recite Darood Ibrahim 100 times on Thursday nights. Every Friday morning feels spiritually different — lighter, blessed, full of barakah."
Source: Vision of Shaykh Musa al-Darir | Recorded in Fajr al-Munir by Imam al-Fakahani (d.734 AH)
Shaykh Musa al-Darir was on a ship caught in a deadly storm known as "al-iqlabiyya" (the Capsizer). In a blessed dream, the Prophet ﷺ himself appeared and taught him this Darood, saying: "Tell the passengers to recite it 1,000 times." By the time they reached 300 recitations, the storm had completely settled. This story is narrated by Shaykh Umar ibn Ali al-Fakahani in Fajr al-Munir and praised by Ibn Arabi and Imam al-Buni.
"During a difficult court case, I recited Darood Tunjina 1000 times. Alhamdulillah the verdict was in our favour. SubhanAllah — it truly delivers from all hardship."
"My business was on the verge of collapse. A scholar advised 1000× Tunjina. Within weeks, an unexpected partnership changed everything. Barakah is real."
"Inspired by the story of Shaykh Musa al-Darir, I recite Tunjina during all storms — literal and metaphorical. It has never failed to bring calm. SubhanAllah."

From the Uwaysi tradition — blessings equal to the infinite knowledge of Allah
From the Qadiri tradition | Widely recited in South Asia
Darood-e-Lukhi is a highly beloved Salawat from the Qadiri tradition, widely transmitted through the scholars of the Indian subcontinent. It is known for its conciseness combined with immense spiritual depth, making it ideal for frequent recitation as a daily Wird (regular practice).
